Belmont Village project violates the restrictions in the Westwood Specific Plan

Updated: Dec 27, 2018

Belmont Village, a Texas developer, wants to build a commercial for-profit business with a structure 12+ stories high (153’) in order to make their business model work within the small footprint of the Westwood Presbyterian church grounds. The size of this lot was not intended for this scale of business. We cannot absorb this size of Belmont Village and round-the-clock employee base. And let's be clear - a 12 story building is not allowed per the Westwood Specific Plan in the first place. The limit is 6 stories.
